San Diego is bursting with talented musicians, and every year we are honored to partner with local bands and entertainers who play a vital role:  to encourage, entertain, and inspire our participants as they pass by.

Ascape is a Classic rock band. Covering such legendary artists and bands such as RHCP, The Stray Cats, Santana, Kid Rock, Smash Mouth , INXS, CCR, David Bowie, Modern English, The Foo-Fighters, The Beatles, The Eagles, The Rolling Stones, Zac Brown, Jason Mraz  and so many more. Ascape allows the feeling and inspiration of a song to come to life with an impressively large repertoire, bridging genres from Rock to Country so much  more.

BAND DIEGO is the sought after live music solution for oldies and variety band entertainment in California.  Rock?  Yes they certainly do!  Your guests will tap their feet to the spirit of the beat as they enjoy a popular selection of favorites from the 50's, 60's, 70's, 80's, 90's to todays hits.  Dance numbers will keep you moving, or slow down to huggin & groovin.  You can always count on Band Diego to perform the right music at the right moment!


Bell Pepperz
Genre:  Jazzy Pop
& Pop Jazz
Course location:  Carlsbad Blvd. and Tamarack

Playing pop-jazz and jazzy pop, the Bell Pepperz combine the classic sounds of yesterday with contemporary classics reworked in their own inimitable style.  Ron Ebel on sax, flute, harmonica, keys and vocals is superbly complimented by Jamie Dixon’s drum stylings and vocals.  Bruce Grafrath ices the cake with his skillful guitar work.

Cowboy Jack and the North County Cowboys

Course location:  Palomar Airport Road and Paseo del Norte

"Cowboy Jack" performs solo with guitar and harmonica for special events, fairs, festivals and was the singing cowboy at Rawhide Ranch in Bonsall, CA for twenty years. He has played for President Gerald and Betty Ford at their grandson’s birthday parties in Rancho Santa Fe. Cowboy Jack’s traditional country band "North County Cowboys," entertains all over Southern California.

Dano's Island Sounds Steel Drum Band delights and electrifies audiences. Combining catchy melodies with exotic rhythms, Dano's musicians transport your event to the festive spirit of the Caribbean Islands.

From his cutting-edge mixes to his bigger-than-life personality, DJ Hersch brings the entire package to any event! With his natural ability to interact with the crowd, DJ Hersch uses his positive energy, structured planning skills, and extensive knowledge of music to create a highly interactive and fun environment.  Make sure you have on your dancing shoes!

Genre:  Acoustic Rock
Course location:  Carlsbad Blvd. at Sequoia

The Flounders play fresh arrangements of covers from the 60's to now. Available as a duo, trio and up to five-piece band. The Flounders have been performing at venues, parties, weddings and events throughout San Diego County.

Genre:  Classic and alternative rock band
Course location:  Carlsbad Blvd. and Island Way

Halfblood, members, ages 11-14, have performed on stage at the House of Blues, Hard Rock Café, Carlsbad Marathon, and at various farmers markets across San Diego. Halfblood includes Chet (age 12 - vocals, guitar), Nina (age 14 - drums, bass, vocals), Dani (age 11 - drums, bass, vocals), Cameron (age 14 - guitar, vocals) and Cami (age 14 - bass). The band enjoys playing an eclectic mix, from classic to alternative rock. Halfblood would also like to thank their band director, Al Padilla with North County Music Lessons.


Island Sounds
Genre:  Hawaiian
Course location:  Avenida Encinas at U-turn

Island Sounds is Keith Marzullo (Hawaiian slack key guitar) and Gerry Rahill (ukulele).  They have been playing together since 2004 and are both marathon runners.


Johnny C.
Genre:  Acoustic Singer/Songwriter
Course location:  Carlsbad Blvd. and Grand

This long time Carlsbad Marathon favorite has been performing in the North County coastal area for about 8 years. He went out on his own as a solo performer in late December of 2007.  He currently lives in Cardiff by the Sea and has been an avid runner for 34 years. He finds most of his inspiration at the ocean with his guitar in tow, or on a relaxing run along the beach.

Course location:  Palomar Airport Rd. and Palomar Oaks Rd.

Few singers can portray stories of love, life and loss with heart-rending accuracy like Maritri Garrett.

Maritri has a natural gift for music, learning instruments with an ease that is impossible to describe and equally impossible to forget.



Martin Storrow
Finish line band

Most comfortable with a harmonica in his pocket and a piano nearby, Los Angeles singer/songwriter Martin Storrow was hailed by former JVibe Magazine as "revolutionizing" acoustic music.

Semisi & Fula Bula
Original Polynesian Rock Reggae Fusion
Course location:  Carlsbad Blvd. and Carlsbad Village Dr.

When Semisi mixes Polynesian rhythms with any style of music he takes a liking to, he calls it “Bula Music” The word “bula” is a greeting from Fiji. The San Diego-based musician feels that combining traditional elements of his native music with other styles adds new vitality and depth. So far, the songs that have undergone this transformation are diverse Rock, Reggae, Calypso, Jazz, Latin, Hip-hop and folk songs have all been used.

The Orbitrons are an exiting new instrumental surf band based in North San Diego County. Combining the genres of surf, space, exotica, and spy, they stir together an uncommon sonic mix of reverb-saturated Surf Gumbo for your ear holes.

Genre:  Rock Jam-Band

Course Location:  Carlsbad Blvd at Breakwater

In some ways they're a jam band a la Phish, The Greatful Dead, Moe or The Allman Brothers. But they're also rooted in funk, jazz and rock - all with a improvisational bent that makes for exciting, fun live shows. Basically, if they don't get you moving, then they haven't done their job!
